AI garden design software is a crowded space, at least a dozen tools launched in the last 18 months claiming photorealistic garden redesign. This page covers what to look for when choosing AI garden design software, what makes one tool different from another, and where our software fits in the lineup.

What separates good AI garden design software from bad

Photo preservation: bad AI tools generate generic gardens and call them your redesign

Good AI tools preserve your actual space, your house, fence, hardscape, and large trees, while redesigning the plantings, materials, furniture, and features. If a tool can't preserve your structure, it's not really redesigning your space.

Style range: most tools offer 3-5 styles

Good tools offer 15+, plus the ability to describe a custom style in your own words. The difference matters because most homeowners don't know exactly what style they want until they see options.

Speed: AI tools that take 5-10 minutes per generation kill the iteration cycle

Good tools generate in 1-2 minutes, which means you actually try 5-10 ideas instead of giving up after one.

Output quality: 512×512 results look fine on a phone but pixelated when printed

Good tools generate 1024×1024 minimum.

Commercial licensing: if you're a designer or agent using the renders professionally

you need a plan with a commercial license. Not all tools offer one.

Our garden design software vs other AI tools

Our software has 7 distinct AI tools (transform existing, design empty space, dream from text, replace objects, remove objects, match style from reference, festive variant) rather than one generic prompt for everything. The right tool for the job means better results.

Built for outdoor specifically, the AI is trained on garden, landscape, and outdoor space photography rather than being a generic image generator. The result is designs that look like real residential gardens, not stock photos.

3 free designs with a free account (watermarked), plus free AI design advice with no signup. Plans from $19/mo remove the watermark and raise the cap to 250+/month.

Plans starting at $19/month (yearly billing). The Pro plan at $69/month includes a full commercial license for landscape designers and real estate agents.

Frequently asked questions

How does it work?

Upload a photo of your outdoor space, pick a style (Modern, Japanese, Mediterranean, etc.) or describe one in words, and choose any additions you want (pool, firepit, pergola, lighting). The AI returns a photorealistic redesign in 1-2 minutes. You can iterate as many times as you want.

How realistic are the AI designs?

Photorealistic. The AI preserves your space's structure (house, fence, hardscape, existing trees) and intelligently swaps in new landscaping, materials, furniture, and features in the chosen style. Most users can't tell our renders from real photos at first glance.

Is the AI garden design tool actually free?

Genuinely free to start: every free account gets 3 photorealistic preview designs (watermarked, preview resolution), no credit card, and the design advice tool needs no signup at all. Paid plans, from $19/month (yearly) for 250 designs/month, remove the watermark and the cap.

Can I use the designs commercially?

The Pro plan ($69/mo yearly, $99/mo monthly) includes a full commercial license, landscape designers, real estate agents, and contractors use it to show clients renders before they commit. The Personal plan is for individual non-commercial use.

Is there a desktop app or just web?

Currently web only, runs in any modern browser on Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android. We're working on iOS and Android native apps for late 2026; web continues to be the primary platform.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, the entire tool runs in any modern mobile browser (iOS Safari, Android Chrome). You can take a photo with your phone, upload it directly, and view the redesign right in the browser. Designs save to your account so you can keep them on any device.

What's the difference between Personal, Pro, and Team plans?

Personal ($19/mo yearly) is for individual homeowners. 250 designs/month, personal use. Pro ($69/mo yearly) adds a commercial license, no watermark, and 1,000 designs/month, built for landscape designers, real estate agents, and contractors. Team ($199/mo yearly) supports up to 5 users with 5,000 designs/month, built for design studios and small agencies.

How is this different from DALL-E or Midjourney?

Generic AI image generators create new images from scratch based on a prompt. They don't preserve YOUR specific outdoor space, they generate a generic garden image. Our tool is image-to-image: it takes your actual photo and redesigns the space while preserving your house, fence, hardscape, and large trees. The result is YOUR space redesigned, not a stock photo.

Is my photo private?

Your uploads are private to your account. We don't sell your photos, don't use them for marketing, and don't show them to other users. You can delete any design from your account at any time. We retain photos only to power your design history.
